I am not enjoying potty training. I waited a long time for signs that ACE was ready. None ever appeared. I was hoping because we waited so long, it would not take as long. So far we are two months or more in - no end in sight.
One strategy we have been trying: when ACE poops in his pants he has to wash out his own underwear. The idea is that he will figure out that it is more of a pain to do it in his pants. This involves an initial rinse in the toilet.
We have discovered some very surprising unintended consequences. Lev sees us put clothes in the toilet. Now, every time ACE gets off the toilet, Lev sprints to put any clothes lying around into the toilet bowl. He's such a helpful guy and very conscientiously does his "duty" as quickly as possible. So far nothing has been flushed, but it's only a matter of time.

You have my sympathy! Things were quite similar with Amanda, but we had the advantage of being able to let her run around in a dress . . . and only a dress . . . for a week or so to cement everything. I'm trying to figure out how to get away with that with her little brothers . . .
